October 17th: Wedding







The Inn At Brookeville Farms was the setting for Sandy and Tom's ceremony and reception. The cocktail and dinner consisted of an eclectic mix of alternative country, african folk, and latin. The bride and groom danced to Patterson Hood's "Back Of A Bible" for their 1st dance. A wide range of alternative, classic rock, and 80s filled out the evening while Patsy Cline's "Crazy" concluded the evening. Photography was provided by Les Henig.

October 10th: Wedding

Congratulations to Marcy and Brian as they celebrated their special day at a friend's private residence. Standards by Connick, Buble', and Sinatra covered the cocktail period while blues tracks by B.B. King, Ray Charles, and southern blues by the Allman Bros were played throughout dinner. The bride and groom danced to the Four Season's "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" for their 1st dance. Marcy danced with her dad to the Tempation's "My Girl" and Brian danced with his mom to Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately". Classic rock and oldies dominated the evening and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "House Is Rockin'" concluded the event.

October 3rd: Wedding




Congratulations to Jenny and Geoffrey as they celebrated their ceremony and reception at Bright Meadow Farm in Chestertown, MD. There weren't any formal dances as the bride and groom preferred a more laid back approach. The cocktail period featured standards by Sinatra and Nat King Cole while a wide variety of 80s alternative mixed with some hip hop filled out the evening. Photography was provided by Piper Warlick.

September 27th: Pets On Wheels Dog-a-Thon

Pets On Wheels held it's 4th annual Dog-a-Thon in Oregon Ridge Park in Hunt Valley. There were plenty of vendors were on hand promoting their organizations and selling their goods. The event featured dog walks along the marked park pathways, various dog contests, a guest speaker on holistic care and health for your dog, and former Oriole great Ken Singleton was on-hand for photos and autographs.

September 20th: GPA-MD Reunion

For the 5th straight year, I emceed and provided music for the Greyhound Pets of America MD Chapter greyhound reunion. There were plenty of pet vendors who provided items for sale and services for greyhounds. A local vet stopped by to give greyhound health and care tips, a pet masage therapist was also on hand, and several greyhounds up for adoption were present. The afternoon also included the famous greyhound games and contests, along with door prizes, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to GPA-MD. Gilleys Dancing Greyhounds were special guests, providing entertainment with tricks and dancing.

August 15th: Wedding

Congrats to Heannie and Teddy as they celebrated their wedding at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA. The bride and groom chose Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am" as their 1st dance. Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" was played for a combo father/daughter and mother/son dance. Some 80s classics and current top 40 dance filled the evening. The event concluded with Coldplay's "Lovers In Japan".

August 8th: Wedding




Jennifer and Travis had their special day at The Marriott Ranch in scenic Hume, VA. This is out of my normal service area, but I did Jennifer's sister's wedding in Oct of 2008 and decided to help their family out. Jennifer and Travis danced to the Mariah Carey/Luther Vandross version of "Endless Love". Jennifer and her dad danced to Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" while Travis and his mom chose The Carpenter's "Close To You". The evening was filled with country, motown, and r & b/hip-hop. Dirty Dancing's "I've Had The Time Of My Life " concluded the evening. The festivities were photographed by Katie Stoops.

August 1st: Wedding

I finally caught a break in travel and did my 1st local wedding in 2009. Alison and Adam celebrated their special day at the Country Club Of York in York, PA. The bride and groom chose Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat's duet "Lucky" as their 1st dance. Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses" returned as Alison danced with dad and Adam danced with his mom to Kenny Rogers' "Through The Years". A mixture of oldies, retro, 80s hits, and current top 40 danced provided a packed dancefloor throughout the night. A hora was even tossed in as our bride groom were hoisted into the air while seated in their chairs. Donna Summer's "Last Dance" concluded the evening's activities.

July 25th: Wedding

Congratulations to Sarah and Brendan on their wedding day. The happy held their event at The Manor at Gunpowder Falls in Parkton, MD. The bride and groom danced to Leona Lewis' "Footprints In The Sand" for their 1st dance. Sarah and her dad danced to Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses" while Brendan and his mom chose Steven Curtis Chapman's "I Believe In You". During the evening, Brendan surprised his bride by singing and playing guitar to a song he wrote for her. Retro and current top 40 dance filled the evening and Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me" concluded the event. Photography was provided by K & R Photography.

July 3rd: Wedding

Congrats to Annie and Sam as they celebrated their wedding at the DAR Building in Washington, DC. In addition to Sinatra and Billie Holliday filling out the cocktail/dinner period, a violinist played background music as well. Annie and Sam danced to Iron & Wine's "Such Great Heights" for their 1st dance. Annie's parents tangoed to Tony Martin's "I Get Ideas" while Sam's parents danced to Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" and danced to a special African line dance afterwards. As an added highlight, the groom's band played a couple sets of classic rock favorites and dance music was played to fill in the gaps. The Spaniels' "Goodnight Sweetheart" concluded the evening.

June 27th: Wedding

For the 2nd straight weekend, I performed at the Sheraton National in Arlington, VA. Michelle and Steven, our bride and groom danced to Queen's "You're My Best Friend". Michelle and her dad danced to Chris DeBurgh's "Lady And Red" while Steven and his mom chose Louis Armstong's "What A Wonderful World". We had a special anniversary dance for all the married couples while "I've Had The Time Of My Life" from Dirty Dancing finished out the evening.

June 20th: Wedding




Congrats to Brian and Kathleen as they celebrated their wedding at the Sheraton National in Arlington, VA. The wedding party was introduced to Daft Punk's "One More Time". Brian and Kathleen chose Brad Paisley's "Then" as their 1st dance. Kathleen danced with her dad to Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable" and Brian danced with his mom to Rascal Flatts' "My Wish". The dancing portion featured a mixture of oldies and country with current top 40/dance later in the evening. Boyz II Men's "End Of The Road" finished out the evening. June 6th: Wedding

Kelly and Andrew celebrated their special day at Weather Lea Farm in Lovettsville, VA. The couple danced their 1st dance to Shelby Lynne's "Iced Tea". Kelly danced with her dad to John Denver's "Sunshine On My Shoulders" and Andrew and his mom danced to the Beatles' "Blackbird". Other special dances included a dance with the grandparents, godparents, and an anniversary dance. Disco, r & b funk, and danceable top 40 kept the dance floor packed all night. Michael Buble's "Save The Last Dance" concluded the evening as the remaining guests headed out to a bonfire and tasty smores at the farm.

May 30th: Wedding

Clare and Kevin had their ceremony and reception at the historic Montpelier Mansion in Laurel, MD. After the ceremony and cocktail period, the wedding party was introduced to the Zombies "This Will Be Our Year". The bride & groom danced their 1st dance to Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am". Stevie Wonder music highlighted the father/daughter "Isn't She Lovely" and the mother/son "Don't You Worry Bout A Thing" dances. Some 80s alternative, classic funk, and current top 40 rounded out the evening. Green Day's "Time Of Your Life" wrapped things up for the last dance.

Congrats to Megan and Eric as they celebrated their wedding at the Evergreen House in Baltimore, MD. The wedding party was introduced to Dave Matthews' "Stay" and the bride & groom danced to The Fray's "Look After You" for their 1st dance. Megan ans dad danced to Randy Travis' "Forever & Ever Amen" while Eric and mom danced to Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable". The Woodend Sanctuary in Chevy Chase was the setting for Sally-Anne and Michael's special day. The wedding party was introduced to Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy". The bride and groom chose Ella Fitzgerald's "You Do Something To Me" as their first dance. Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and more Ella Fitzgerald rounded out the dinner music. Disco, retro 90s dance, and current favorites packed the dancefloor during the night. The evening concluded with REM's "End Of The World" and Sinatra's "The Last Dance". Congratulations to Kelly and Roy as they celebrated their wedding day at the historic Kent Manor Inn. The bride & groom danced to Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed". Kelly and her dad enjoyed Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" while Roy and his mom danced to the Beatles' "Till There Was You". Disco and hip-hop dominated the evening while I'll wrapped things up with an 80s finale: Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". Wedding photography was provided by J. April 25th: Wedding







Erin and Wayne celebrated their wedding at the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn, VA. The wedding party was introduced to U2's "Beautiful Day" and a sildeshow montage was played durring dinner. The bride & groom chose Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are" as their 1st dance while Erin and dad danced to Al Martino's "Daddy's Little Girl". The song "Endless Love" was played as an Anniversary Dance for all the married couples and disco, 80s hits, and motown were played throughout the night. April 18th: Wedding

Emily and Nathan enjoyed Woodlawn Plantation as the backdrop for their wedding and cocktail reception. Billie Holiday, Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald were played throughout the cocktail period. The bride and groom chose Michael Buble's "Home" as their 1st dance. Emily and dad danced to Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter" while Nathan danced with his mom to Boyz II Men's "A Song For Mama". Retro 80s along with some late night hip-hop finished out an evening highlighted by a dance-off between the groom and one of his friends. March 14th: Wedding

Congrats to Caroline and Alec as they celebrated their wedding at the Valley Country Club in Towson, MD. Cocktails and dinner music included Etta James, Beatles, Sinatra, Jack Johnson, and Michael Buble. The wedding party was introduced to Fall Out Boy's "Dance Dance" and Caroline and Alec chose Edwin McCain's "I Could Not Ask For More" as their 1st dance. Our bride danced with her dad to Heartland's "I Love Her First" while the groom and his mom chose Iz's "Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World" medley. Some motown and disco started things up, eventually giving way to 80s classics and current hip-hop. Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love" closed out the evening's last dance. March 7th: Wedding

After a 3 month winter break, my first event in 2009 was a wedding for Melissa and Bill. The Old Town Alexandria Hilton was the site for a "Casino Themed" wedding reception. Guests were able to play for fun at blackjack and craps tables and prizes were given out from a raffle at the evening's end. Music from Sinatra, Bennett, and Dean Martin covered the cocktail period. The bride and groom forgoed the traditional dances so various oldies and current top 40 dominated the dancing portion of the evening. The last dance was Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On".
